Customer Castings
How do I know if a PowerHammer will work on my castings? Click on the questions below to find out if PowerHammer is a good fit for you.
Are they brittle enough to be broken by impact?
Casting material must be brittle enough to break (not bend) when subjected to impact force.
- Risers should be formed using breaker cores to ease knock-off and to control break off location.
- Risers should be knocked off before any casting heat treatment.
Are the castings heavy enough to resist movement when risers are impacted?
Casting weight should be many times greater than riser weight.
- A cackup ledge can be effective.
- PowerHammer may be used as counter weight to help hold casting in place.
Does the casting design allow good access to the riser knock off point?
PowerHammer placement and direction is critical.
